Carissa's Surf Shop is named after Hawaiian Olympian and five-time World Surf League champion Carissa Moore. Through the sport of surfing, the Olympian inspires people of all ages to be strong and confident. With a wide selection of surfboards, wax, accessories, and clothing, our shop is a true surfers‘ paradise. At our surf shop, we strive to provide high-quality equipment to surfers of all levels. Among our staff, you'll find friendly, beach-loving, knowledgeable, and passionate surfers.

Approach
Inspired by Carissa Moore and the Hawaiian lifestyle, I created a visual identity
that voices a bold, groovy style through pattern illustrations and colors.
Trademark Development
Created an object letterform logo by combining the letter C and a wave.
Packaging Re-search
After the trademark development, I decided to expand the identity by creating a packaging system targeted to surfers.
Surfing wax is an essential product that surfers use for adhesion to prevent them from slipping off their boards. Due to the various water temperatures and seasons, different surfing waxes exist for specific temperatures. These surfing waxes consists of Tropical Wax, Cold Wax, and Warm Wax. Because each wax is crafted to withstand specific temperatures, it is important for surfers to apply the appropriate wax on their board to ensure maximum traction.
Packaging Design Process/Outcome?
To help surfers differentiate the wax temperatures, I began by choosing colors that best reflect each temperature. I then created different patterns for each wax based on the temperatures. Lastly, to unify this system and help represent part of the Hawaiian inspiration, I created the same tiki illustration on each packaging with the appropriate temperature color.
